Space, the Finalfrontier. These are the voyages of a bunch of electronic music producers. It's a lifetime mission: to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new sounds and new grooves; to boldly go where no man has gone before.
NAT2112 was the sound manifesto of Nature Records: a compilation that would represent our new sound / direction. It was called “Mission two: Connecting Electronix Network”, and featured a mix of italian and international artists. The track we’re posting is from our Miami friends from Schematic “Phoenecia” and it’s called “Bob 09”. It was 1998.
NAT2110, the first Nature Records from Fabrizio and Marco D’Arcangelo. We were so proud to welcome the amazing twin brothers on our label and we still get emotional when we think to those days. It was the start of a long term friendship and collaboration. The track is Diagram 13, and it was 1998.
Very important post today as we’re talking about Nature Records number eight: NAT2108 from MAT101. Mat101 was formed by Francesco de Bellis and Mario Pierro (back then Emiliano Tortora was also part of the band). This is so crucial because it’s the beginning of the strongest production link within the Finalfrontier family. It’s a collaboration that we started back then and it’s still alive and running today. The track on the video is “Danni Morali e Fisici” and it was 1997.
Another one from Marco Passarani, it’s the sixth Nature Records release (NAT2106) and the track is called Floid. The tempo was quite different from our usual stuff, so that the people played this one often at 33RPM. It was 1997.
Today it’s the NAT2104 turn. This is the fourth release that came out on Nature Records, and it was done by T.E.W. (Simone Renghi and Boccia Bean). The track is called “Il Chiostro”. I remember how difficult it was to bring the artwork to the films developer … 18 floppy disks (we clearly didn’t have a zip drive). It was 1994.
Today it’s NAT2109 the last one of the first Nature Records releases cycle. It was again signed by Marco Passarani as PSS2099 and the track it’s “02/Log”. As the name of the EP (Stage clear, Mission 1 accomplished) says, it was the turning point in many ways .. including the sound which from that moment on moved somewhere else and the label started being a bit more professional and organized. It was 1997.
Hello friends today we talk about Nature Records NAT2107, clearly the 7th release. It was done by Amptek, Alessandro Marenga and the track is called Ampway … a very dramatic journey with a classic beat arrangement, quite common in our production and sets back in those days. It was 1997.
Today we are talking about Nature NAT2105. It was Marco’s second Nature ep called “It will be what it was”. The track is “New Wave 2”. We never told this story, but this track got licensed by Warp records back then (together with 2 other tracks from NAT2106) but sadly never released at end. It was 1995.
So the tribute continues today, and this time it’s Nature Records number NAT2013, third release. The Band was M.S.B. and the track is “A Flux to Follow”. M.S.B. is formed by Saverio Evangelista (also known as part of Esplendor Geometrico) and Maurizio Martinucci. No shadow can put such masterpiece into darkness. It was 1994.
