This is the video of the day. Raiders of the lost arp’s “Beyond the dark”. Mario Pierro’s masterpiece is one of the last record we released on Nature, and the 12” features remixes from Underground Resistance and Los Hermanos.

I am still wondering if this is the right name for this section of our blog: since I don’t know the answer yet, lemme proudly say that this is the video of the day. Tonight, during a studio session, we were playing around with a Korg Monotron. Suddenly its batteries were dying and the little synth started creating random amazing sounds. This is what happened more or less with the track featured on this video by Mat101, almost 12 years ago; while recording their album, we went out for a sandwich and came back after 30 minutes. A total random drone sound was playing loud in the studio on its own and we managed to capture it and lay it down on what Mario and Francesco called “Tecnologia Casuale” (Random Technology).

This is the video of the day. Marco Passarani’s latest release in collaboration with Matias Monteagudo aka Sacco. The track, released by Desolat, has been wrote during the Schmiede 2008 workshop in Austria, a 10 days full immersion in an old salt refinery near Salzburg.

"On my planet “to rest” is to rest, to cease using energy. To me it is quite illogical to run up and down on green grass using energy instead of saving it."

Finalfrontier log, or blog …

Well, those of you who thought we were dead have lost their bet. Hello, this is Ambassador Sarek writing from somewhere in a galaxy above you. After many years of travelling on board the Finalfrontier’s starship, the crew has been sent on separate away missions in order to explore new areas of the musical universe of electronic dance music. You might have noticed that the Finalfrontier’s webpage kinda died almost a year ago, so as the labels. Well it’s not all true.

Finalfrontier’s label productions is definitively on standby mode. After 15 years of hard work, the labels deserve some rest. We’re not killing them, it’s just a break that will allow each one of us to spend more time on new musical projects. Running a label is one of the most exciting experience, but lately the creative time was getting shorter and shorter, while the music business was getting harder and harder. So we came to the conclusion … “for a while, let’s go back to our primitive need: music making”.

What the future will be, we just don’t know. What we know is that we have more music than ever to share with you, and we hope that this new platform will help our communication ability to get better.

Live long and prosper.

Ambassador Sarek.
